Corporate Video: COMPLETED!

Even after some struggle, we managed to create and produce an awesome, lively and informative promotional video for KICKZ.

Spending my time researching, designing, blogging, filming, interviewing and editing has all proven worthwhile when viewing our four minute wonder.

We hope to send our corporate video to our clients soon in hope of professional distribution.

Here's to the next hundred videos!

Good news!

Thankfully the Kickz program was on at Rush Croft Foundation School (my old secondary school). We got some brilliant shots using not only a camera borrowed by the College but also a Go-Pro brought in by my peer and fellow group member Viktor. I'm really happy with the shots and really do see them complimenting with some interviews we also did at the venue. Viktor has a talent to notice amazing visuals which gave me the opportunity to learn more about and improve my skills with 'Sound'. I also had the opportunity to be the interviewer when filming our client. Overall brilliant evening filming, we plan to spend one more Wedneday filming (advised by our client himself).

Complications.

All groups and projects experience some sort of complication or problem throughout the process of planning and producing their content but maybe not as much as we have. As a group we were given the Easter break to start and complete filming for our corporate video. We were given venues and times for where and when the Kickz program will happen during the holiday. We didn't film the first week as our client had informed us the programme would not be taking place. This gave us the opportunity to converse amongst our selves on our "Corporate Video" whatsapp group, which allows us plan and improve filming ideas. The second week had arrived. We first travelled to Tottenham Hale only to discover the programme wasn't on. We were saddened by this but didn't let this affect our goals and aspirations for filming as we had another venue later in the week. We then reached the venue in Chingford, where we waited for an hour after programme was supposed to begin, but nobody turned up and we were let down again. This resulted in us being unable to film throughout the whole break whilst our peers in other groups had completed filming and even some had completed editing. We emailed Dominique (our tutor) and the client informing them about the problems we have been facing. As a group we decided to email another possibile client as a back up plan. This back up client has contacted us and told us he is more than happy with us working for him. Dominique's first lesson back after the break consisted of us explaining the complete situation and deciding to give the Chingford venue a final chance. If all fails again then we have decided to use our back up client as we want to show we are determinded to get our grade as this unit enables us to learn a variety of skills and is significant to our overall grade. Let's hope it all goes well.

Planning and preparing for our client meeting this Friday 20th.

(18/03/2015)

Corporate video planning – things to consider.

  • Objectives – what do you want to communicate and why?
  • Define your audience – who are you trying to reach?
  • Agree your budget. – how much do you want to spend?
  • Alternative uses/edits – shooting footage now could save ££££’s later – how can it be re-purposed?
  • Content – What do you need to include?
  • Distribution media – how are you going to deliver this programme?
  • Lifetime – is this to deliver a one-off message or for long term distribution?
  • Deadline – when do you need this project to be completed?
  • Script – do you write your own, use a professional or a bit of each?
  • Location – do you want to shoot on site or in a studio?
  • Do you want to use actors or members of your team?
  • Do you use voice over, or maybe a presenter – amateur or pro?
  • Resources – what do you already have?
